Steve Jobs: Commencement Address at Stanford University

Before I watch this video, I already know who Steve Jobs is, because in my seminar class back to level 4, my finally presentation is about the Apple company, and Steve Jobs is the co-founder and CEO of Apple. I have watched lots of Commencement Address by famous people, some of them use very academic words to encourage the students and some of them just give few sentences to give expression their address, but for Steve, he never use any academic words and long sentences, he just use the way as telling stories to make students laugh, understand and comprehend. He is a wit guy so that he knows how to use the limited time and resource to do the things he would like to do and create the things people will ever be attracted. He divided his speech into three stories; three stories include his whole life so far. The first story is about connecting the dots. His tells us how he became a people like this even he never graduated from college. Lots of people, I think almost of everyone think we must get a bachelor degree in our lives that mean you’re successful. However Steve tell us that everything happened in your life has its own meaning, you cannot ignore them and some day you will find out that the things you had gave up can be reasonable. We should try to do the things we really interested in and believed what we believed. We must trust something, because we will see the dots connected each other in the future and that is the way make up our lives. His second story is about love and loss. During the time I listen to his telling, I think Steve is a very optimistic people, he thinks that everyone will lose something without any reason, but we must keep our Attic faith, and keep looking for the things your really like to do, and also love. So before you achieve your goal, never settle. His third story is about death. Even though this is a very sad and oppressive topic, he still uses his passion to introduce his death. After his experience his said no one has ever escaped death, so if we cannot escaped that why do we try our best to live, never waste our time and ever follow our heart.

Three things Steve give us: You have to trust in something; keep looking -- don't settle and stay hungry, stay foolish.

I did not have many experiences and stories about life. The only thing I can talk is my life studying aboard. Before I came to Canada, I never have the chance to live in other place without stay with my family, so the first time I sit in the airplane to Toronto, I told myself I must living by myself just from now on. But every thing seems not easy, I am just a 16 years old girl, I did not know how to create a new account in bank and did not know how to cook a dinner, I even did not know who to clear up my baggage. Now, I learned everything, I can cook, I can handle everything I had met, I know how to deal things with people in more intelligent way. I want to say that if you never try you will never how deep your potential is. Be brave, be polite, be strong, be optimistic and be passion. We will finally be succeeded; we deserve it, because of our pay out!!
